Gonna start this up again too!

Blog for 2 minutes a day! Hopefully this will be continued as I plan to also continue my food blog!

Over this 4th of July weekend my friend Nick introduced me to this British singer/songwriter Frank Turner. He used to be the singer for this band Million Dead, but now he is going it solo. Nick had mentioned Frank to me over the semester and I did check him out, but didn't get into him. Luckily, Nick brought me Frank's newest CD Love Ire & Songs and we listened to it while we were driving around waiting for parking to a beach to become free. What a pleasant CD!

This CD is highly reminiscent of Billy Bragg, but with way less political overtones and much more introspective. Frank seems to be going through some tough times, obviously something everyone can relate to. It comes out very clearly in his music, but it never once seems like he's whining or complaining. Instead he seems relatively complacent about things, and is just bringing them to our attention.

His music is a little poppier than Billy Bragg's is, but that is definitely not a drawback in the least. Instead, this CD comes off as a clean and crisp look back on the life of a punk rocker who is nearing his 30s. Check it out friends, it's so enjoyable!
